Rating of Conferences and Workshops (edited by Christoph Steindl)

This Web-page shows an overview of the number of submitted and accepted papers, and the acceptance rates of several conferences mainly in the field of object-orientation. It shall give you an impresison of how difficult it might be to get a paper accepted at a conference. Thanks to the many people who provided additional input.

Conferences can be classified by their acceptance rates:

  • Interest-based. Your paper will get accepted even if it's not highly original, as long as the programme committee feels it's relevant.
  • Mildly selective. The conference (programme committee) would like to be selective, but the submissions don't allow it. This might be common for young conferences or conferences in very specific topics. Typical acceptance rate: 50% or above (meaning that with a chance of at least 50% your paper gets accepted)
  • Selective. Acceptance rate: >25%
  • Very selective. Acceptance rate: <25%

The following table shows the average acceptance rates for several conferences (in alphabetical order). You can click on the acceptance rate in the middle column to see the underlying data. The rightmost column shows whether there is a trend in the historical data of acceptance rates: R if the acceptance rates are rising, F if they are falling. This column is left blank if there are insufficient data or if there is no development.

Another approach would be to rate the conferences on a scale of 10 points based on the personal impressions: 0 points for "very, very easy to get a paper accepted", 10 points for "no chance to get a paper accepted".
